WAX Magazine & Website

WAX is a prototype for a 92-page, art and design-focused skateboarding magazine accompanied by a ReadyMag website. The publication was laser printed on pulp newsprint and bound with a rigid cardboard spine and futurism-inspired hardware, combining raw materiality with a forward-looking aesthetic. Most of the articles are focused around the deeper skate scene in the Boston area.

Emphasis on utility

The binding for this magazine was created with 8 nuts and bolts, the same ones that would typically hold your truck to your board. The magazine also suggests that when you take the bolts out, you’ll wanna put up some of the spreads and advertisements as posters on your punk-rock walls of your bedroom. Next time you’re at the skatestore making a board, you’d wanna buy this magazine as a neccessity for the utility and culture it brings your experience and lifestyle.
