FaceBook Marketplace Gallery is an ongoing project started by a friend
of mine, Arthur Michel, which turns the online space of FaceBook
Marketplace into something ironically artistic and cerebral. I was on
board with a lot of my friends for the first edition of the gallery show
on January 4, 2026. I was in charge of making many advertisements,
including letter-sized posters for wheatpasting, half-sheet flyers, and
a minute-and-a-half 3D animation.
Once actually in the space at Box of Moonlight in Brooklyn, roughly 12
of us showed off our different art, mainly oil paintings. I had a spot
right next to the door where I showed a digital experience I had been
crafting for the last two months. The program was made in Godot and was
a pseudo recreation of the gallery space we were standing in. There were
many ragdolls that the user could throw around and blank picture frames
on the walls. Once a photo was AirDropped to my MacBook, it would change
all of the blank frames to that photo using an intense script for Godot
and Apple Automator.
It was a hit, unexpectedly becoming a one of a kind photobooth that
would leave a memory like no other.
